Itâs been a festive holiday season at Aronson Advertising Agency Inc., a traditional and digital marketing company near Chicago, IL. As a result of an office-wide decorating contest, there are strings of lights, wrapping paper, and multiple custom-made, employee-inspired elves on the shelf sprinkled around the office. Itâs been a nice change of pace, a fun way for everyone to unleash their creativity, and an opportunity to mingle with co-workers you might not cross paths with otherwise. We enjoyed multiple events throughout the month of December to get everybody into the holiday spirit.
Holiday Decorating Contest
Each department had a different approach to decorating their work area. The content writing team went with a Hanukkah theme while the SEO team made a Christmas tree from lights, made a fireplace from a tablet, and even incorporated Yoda into the display.
The social media team went all out, winning the Christmas decorating competition.
Nothing says Christmas like a Yoda under the tree.
Dangling snowflakes, Santa, and stockings by the fireplace decorate the PPC teamâs work area.
Nina nailed it!
Ugly Sweater Contest
A Christmas classic, the ugly sweater contest was quite the spectacle. Sweater designs ranged from hideous to funny and cute. Looks included a sweater with a plush reindeer sewed to it, naughty Santas and polar bears, and the standard âgift from grannyâ sweaters.
Pretty faces and ugly sweaters what a combination.
Baking Contest
To satisfy our sweet tooth, contestants brought in holiday treats for the rest of the office to taste. There was a scrumptious peppermint cheesecake, phenomenal banana pudding, the oh-so-popular puppy chow, yummy cookies, and tasty muffins.
Gift Exchange
Probably the funniest event of them all, the White Elephant exchange offered gifts ranging from things youâll never need to really cool. There was a package of 10 different hot sauces, an iTunes gift card, and a John Travolta record coupled with a Abraham Lincoln candle. The most popular gift was a Star Wars mug with a Wookiee on it, which was passed around the most amongst gift snatchers.
Jeff got the package of hot sauces, but someone traded it from him for a coloring book soon after.
David won the Travolta record and Abraham Lincoln candle, but he traded it for the Wookiee mug.
Office Christmas Party
After a work-filled half day, the office headed over to a local restaurant where the fun began. While some people played a competitive game of bowling, others sat around mingling with each other or eating their choice of nachos, sandwiches, salad, pizza, meatballs, and so much more. Food, drinks, and bowling were complimentary (thanks again, Larry!) and I think itâs safe to say everyone had a great time.
From everyone at Aronson Advertising to you, happy holiday!
