Google Updates Search Engine Results Layout

As many digital marketers know, Google releases numerous updates to its platforms, software, and search engine results throughout the year. And it appears as though Google has once again adjusted the layout of the search engine results page (SERP), at least for some users.

Some of our employees at Aronson Advertising recognized a noticeable layout change while searching for a specific vehicle. The following images show a search for a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The SERP lists a number of clickable categories on the left-hand side of the page, allowing you to view everything from a vehicle overview, news about the vehicle, and vehicle reviews.

Although a full rollout of the new SERP page has yet to be implemented, it will be interesting to see the impact it has on users searching for products and services. We predict that this new SERP layout will be helpful to users who are looking for new cars and want easily accessible information. However, the effect this new design has on long-term SEO efforts is yet to be determined.
