Favorite Summer Activities of the Aronson Advertising Team

With the start of fall officially underway, we wanted to take a look back at this past summer and find out what activities, events, and adventures the Aronson Advertising team enjoyed doing the most. Below are just a handful of the stories our employees shared.

Gianna Petan- Content Writer

Gianna’s favorite event this past summer was attending the Country Lake Shake at Northerly Island in Chicago. It’s a three-day country music festival, and she said her favorite performances were Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, and Miranda Lambert.

Christian Davis- SEO Strategist

Christian and his girlfriend enjoyed a hiking adventure in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. They went all out when preparing for their trip, equipping themselves with hiking boots, rain jackets, hydro packs, thermals, and several other gadgets they were unsure how to use, like flint rods, headlamps, and infrared smartphone apps. Christian said, “It’s so gorgeous there between the mountains and waterfalls. The paths up the mountains were these huge stair-casing boulders that often had streams running through them. I can’t wait to go back, and I highly recommend it for anyone that is adventurous. You probably don’t need the flint rods though.”

Heidi Carpenter- Social Media Strategist

Heidi traveled abroad this summer for a weekend getaway in Victoria, British Columbia, where she met up with her parents, brother, and her brother’s girlfriend. They visited Hatley Castle, which she said looked eerily familiar. “A group of X-Men impersonators in full-costume joined us, and I realized [the castle] is the X-Men headquarters in the movies. The tour guide said Ryan Reynolds was there the day before to film Deadpool 2. Later I found his name in the guest book, but I don’t know if it’s his actual signature! I tweeted a photo of the signature to him for verification but he didn’t respond.”

Kayla Kinney- Content Writer

Kayla also left the state for her favorite summer excursion, taking a trip with her boyfriend to Colorado. “We stayed near the Denver area but also visited Estes Park, Colorado Springs, and Boulder. Highlights for me are Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs (it’s UNREAL), winding through mountain roads to get to Estes Park, and this bizarre Mexican restaurant called Casa Bonita. You basically get dinner and a show. The show contains people “cliff diving” from a waterfall into a pool, a mariachi band, and a cheesy “gunfight.” Like I said, bizarre. If you’re ever out in Denver, you cannot miss this place.”

Marina Klyavina- PPC Manager

Continuing the trend of traveling, Marina said the most memorable event of her summer was her trip to Japan, where she enjoyed stunning views of snow-topped mountains and traditional Japanese architecture.

Hannah headed out west for her favorite summer activity. Out in California to visit a friend, she said, “[We] walked along the beach, went hiking, went kayaking in the ocean and saw lots of sea lions, and ate lots of tacos.”
