With cold weather rolling in and leaves turning to shades of orange, red, and yellow, October is coming to an end, meaning Halloween is just around the corner. To get into the spirit, weâve asked the employees of Aronson Advertising what spooky flicks they love to watch this time of year. From beloved classics to scary thrillers, find out what movies our employees shared below.
Gianna Petan
A member of our content team, Gianna said The Nightmare Before Christmas was her favorite Halloween movie because, âI love Tim Burton films, and Jack Skellington is also one of my favorite animated characters of all time. The movie also duals as a Halloween and Christmas movie, which are my two favorite times of the year.â
Mark Villaloboz
One of our PPC specialists, Mark, told us the beloved Hocus Pocus is his favorite Halloween film because he loves âup all nightâ movies where the setting is confined to one day or night. He also sites Kathy Najimy as another reason he loves the movie: â[sheâs] known more for her voiceover work, she doesnât do a lot of live action roles, but sheâs amazing in this.â And Mark loves all of the early 90s outfits and set pieces, too.
Kayla Kinney
Also a content writer, Kayla told us her pick was It Follows. âThis isnât a âHalloweenâ movie, per se, but I love [it]. Tonally speaking, it reminds me a lot of the original Halloween. Itâs set in current day Detroit/suburban Michigan in the fall so it has the perfect spooky atmosphere and fall colorsâŚI think It Follows has one of the most horrifying âmovie monstersâ in recent memory.â
John DeBerge
Changing it up, John has always loved Army of Darkness because âit is such a fun horror-comedy my friends and I have been quoting for years. Bruce Campbell is one of the greatest B-List performers in the history of cinema!â
Hannah Powers
Finishing our list is Hannah, another member of our content team. She says that although not necessarily a âHalloweenâ movie, âThe Orphanage has always terrified me. The first time I saw it was at a friendâs house; then I had to walk home alone in the dark after [which] probably contributed to that!â
