Christian Davis, Music Composition
Christian, an SEO Strategist, has been composing music for 13 years and is proficient in a number of instruments. “When I was a kid, my mom had a really eclectic taste. My brother and I used to dance around in our PJs to Frank Sinatra, the Doors, Pat Metheny, Sade, Fleetwood Mac, even Edith Piaf,” and thus began his lifetime relationship with music. Christian also mentions that his brother continues to be his biggest influence in music, saying, “I owe him everything because he’s the one who taught me how to compose.”
Heidi Carpenter, Photography
Social Media Specialist, Heidi Carpenter has been experimenting with photography off and on for a “couple decades” before really taking her art to the next level over the past four years. She mentions that her passion for photography started when she was a child, where she inherited the interest from her dad, brother, and grandfather, saying that, “it’s kind of a family tradition.” Heidi’s favorite part of photography is its ability to draw the viewer into the image itself. “When I take photos, my goal is to pull the viewer into the photograph. I attempt to create an immersive experience and make them feel as if they are there.”
Tony Esposito, Wood Working
SEO Specialist Tony Esposito has a penchant for creating functional pieces from everyday objects. While at first, Tony wasn’t sure if his creations were “art enough,” anyone who takes a look at his pieces can see the great amount of effort, time, and care that has gone into each. Here, Tony’s inspiration as a musician shines through his artwork, expressed through his use of an old bass drum.
Gianna Petan, Crochet
Art is often therapeutic for those who make it, and Content Specialist Gianna Petan is certainly no exception. In fact, she says the therapeutic and calming nature of crochet is the driving inspiration for her work. “I usually do it while I watch T.V., or on a car ride. It’s also a stress reliever because it clears my mind while giving me something else to focus on while keeping my hands busy.” She adds that she keeps her first scarf as a reminder that practice makes perfect, saying that her first piece is “a testament to how good I’ve gotten” in the four years she has been crocheting.
Neha Dunkirk, Poetry
When Neha Dunkirk isn’t working as an SEO Specialist, she enjoys creating both written and spoken word poetry. What started out with a penchant for Wyclef Jean and karaoke and has developed vastly since Neha graduated college. For Neha, the highlight of performing is her ability to captivate an audience through the power of her creativity. “My favorite part of performing is being creative and being in the limelight.”
Chantal Redmond, Photography
Content Specialist Chantal Redmond is an avid photographer who is especially fascinated on the narrative qualities of her preferred medium. By capturing a moment in time, Chantal feels it tells a unique story, adding, “it can be such a pure form of expression, especially candids—what you see is what you get!” She has been taking pictures for several years, mentioning she “was officially introduced to the darkroom in eighth grade and [has] been hooked ever since.” Chantal says she is inspired by contemporary photographer Brittani Sensabaugh, creator of the 222Movement, which seeks to “document all the places around the world where melanated people live that the media talks down on.”
Nancy Camp, Photography
Nancy Camp, Social Media Specialist, is also an avid photographer, and has 20 years of work under her belt. Her work spans from nature, to architecture, to her own adorable pets. Her subject matter is just as diverse as her social media prowess!
Vicky Szczypkowski, Drawing & Painting
Some of Content Specialist Vicky Szczypkowski’s first and fondest memories are from creating artwork as a child. Her passion for art runs so deep, she claims she “always thought [she’d] go into a profession that had to do with visual art.” Vicky works in multiple mediums, including colored pencil, watercolor, and more. While she claims she doesn’t work on her art nearly as much as she did in the past, she still enjoys taking time out of her day to get lost in her art. “It’s still the only thing that I’ve found that completely lets me get out of my head for a few hours,” and as many artists will tell you, that reprieve is often priceless.
