Leaves changing color, the cool weather settling in, carved pumpkins displayed on front porches. These are just some of the signs that fall is finally here! September 22 is the first official day of fall. To help you get excited about everything this season has to offer, we asked the Aronson Advertising team about the activities they like to partake in once fall arrives.

An overwhelming majority of the team said they love going to a pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin. Some team members like to carve the pumpkin and even scoop out, clean, and roast the seeds for a yummy seasonal treat. Should you find yourself in Chicagoland, the most popular pumpkin patches and fall festivals in the area are Bengston’s Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen, Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch in Hampshire, and Richardson’s Adventure Farm in Spring Grove, home of the world’s largest corn maze.

Social team member Alli has a particularly creepy pumpkin-carving story.

“Every year [my family has] a pumpkin carving contest in my parent’s backyard followed by a bonfire. One year (2015) my brother-in-law took a picture of all the pumpkins lined up, and there was a ghost in the background! It’s covering up the door, and there are a pair eyes next to it. Eeeeeeeeeeeek!”

Many Aronson team members take advantage of their local apple orchards to make the freshest, most decadent apple pies possible. In fact, digital team leader George goes all-out. In addition to baking apple pie, he also enjoys making apple cider mimosas, a fall twist on a popular champagne-based drink.

Taking in the breathtaking scenery around Chicagoland is how SEO team member Q spends his fall days. He’s actually experienced fall throughout the world via photographs he and his family send each other, most notably in his home country of Pakistan. Theoretically speaking, Q has also visited Wales, Birmingham, Cardiff, and London—all located in the U.K.—as well as Hong Kong, all thanks to the pictures his sisters have shared with him. If you would like to know where the best places are to experience the fall foliage in Chicagoland, check out our list.

Social team member Heidi is an accomplished photographer and makes the most of the fall scenery by checking out haunted places throughout Illinois and Chicagoland and snaps pictures of the creepiest spots. You can check out a few of her stunningly beautiful photos below.

Of course, an action-packed fall wouldn’t be fulfilled without joining in the Halloween fun! Our team members like checking out the spookiest haunted houses in the area to get their adrenaline going. Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee is also a popular destination for our resident thrill-seekers. And for some of Aronson Advertising’s team members, no Halloween season would be complete without watching a scary movie or two.
