SEM Specialist

Aronson Advertising is seeking a motivated, analytical, and results-driven SEM Specialist to join our growing digital marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about paid search, enjoys solving complex marketing challenges, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is a 100% remote position for individuals in the Chicagoland area. Attendance may be required at our Schaumburg office or in the area on occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Build, launch, and manage Google Ads and Microsoft Ads campaigns from strategy through execution.
  • Monitor campaign performance daily and proactively optimize toward KPIs including leads, conversions, ROAS, CPA, CTR, and impression share.
  • Perform ongoing keyword research, expansion, refinement, and negative keyword management.
  • Write compelling, high-performing ad copy that aligns with client branding and campaign goals.
  • Develop and optimize bidding strategies using automated and manual bidding techniques.
  • Create, test, and optimize ad assets, extensions, audiences, and campaign structures.
  • Analyze campaign performance and present actionable recommendations based on data.
  • Monitor budgets and pacing to maximize efficiency while meeting client objectives.
  • Utilize GA 4, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Stay current on Google Ads updates, AI features, automation tools, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with account managers, designers, SEO specialists, and leadership to execute integrated marketing strategies.
  • Assist with special projects, campaign launches, and client requests as needed.

Key Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience managing Google Ads campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of paid search strategy and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Ads is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and conversion tracking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Ads Certification
  • Google Analytics Certification
  • Knowledge of SEO and Local SEO
  • Automotive marketing experience is a plus
